Department's Teaching Objectives

We aim to train individuals who

  1. can perceive basic concepts such as distance in astronomy, have the ability to think multi-dimensionally, and have the knowledge of the difference and diversity of celestial bodies in space.
  2. have the necessary knowledge about the common features of every celestial body in the universe, have the knowledge and ability to use the tools and equipment to observe the celestial bodies, own the ability to create computer programs and use ready-made programs to process the data obtained from the celestial bodies.
  3. have free-thinking skills required in different careers/professions at/outside the university, can produce creative ideas, are open to new ideas, and can research.
  4. use information and communication technologies effectively in professions outside the field of astronomy, analyze the problems they encounter and solve them algorithmically and by using current technological developments.
